Microsoft and Google switched off the old, unauthenticated way of sending mail. Overnight, scan-to-email died on half the equipment in your building. send25 is the relay that still accepts those machines — and signs their mail properly so it lands in the inbox.
What actually happened
The rules changed underneath you. Every major mail provider now demands modern authentication and modern encryption — neither of which a 2014 multifunction copier has ever heard of.
The machine is fine. The internet moved.
Microsoft 365 retired the simple username-and-password method your device was configured with. The device kept trying. The mail stopped arriving.
Most relays now require TLS 1.2 or newer. Plenty of working equipment only speaks TLS 1.0 — or nothing at all — and gets hung up on before it can say a word.
Route it through one of the large email APIs and you hit the same wall: modern authentication is mandatory and old encryption is refused. There's no setting to turn either off. We accept both the old way and the new one.
Getting connected
Most sites are sending within a day. You don't need to touch the device more than once.
If your office has a fixed IP address, we allow-list it and your device needs no credentials at all. If it doesn't — most small offices don't — we issue a username and password per device instead. Either way you tell us the domain your mail comes from.
We generate them and show you the exact values to paste, then check them against live DNS and tell you plainly whether they're right. This is what makes your mail land in the inbox instead of the junk folder.

What we watch so you don't
Every message is signed as your domain and checked against the rules Gmail and Outlook actually enforce. That's the difference between the inbox and the junk folder.
When an address is permanently gone, we stop sending to it automatically. Repeatedly mailing dead addresses is one of the fastest ways to wreck a sending reputation.
Each customer has their own sending limit. A scanner stuck in a loop hits its own ceiling and gets held — it doesn't spend anyone else's headroom.
If something is throttled or the far end is down, the message waits and retries. We'd rather your invoice arrive late than vanish silently.
